Breakfast is buffet. We have cereal, toast, scrambled eggs, omelet, muffin, fruit, juice, and coffee. Good variety and tasty. Arenal Springs is so lovely with flowers and gorgeous views of the Arenal Volcano. Really happy with this place. We even have a decent view of the volcano from our bungalow.

Then we drive into
town to do some
exploring. I stop at a shop where I bought a turtle toy for my grandson and postcards. Bought souvenir mini ox cart $12.00 USD. Stopped at Nacional Bank to exchange $100 USD for 56030 colones. Walking we saw the plaza with its church. Stopped at a supermarket for water. Mailed out some postcards.

I had arranged an excursion for us today. At 2:50 pm we are picked up by
Sunset Tours. Tonio is our driver and Jaime is our guide. First we do a
hike around Arenal Volcano. Unfortunately we didn't see any lava flowing from this active volcano. We did see spider monkey, squirrel, leaf cutter ants, toucans. It was a nice hike.

Then we are off to
Tabacon Hot Springs. Here steaming waters pour out of the base of Arenal Volcano cascading through this resort/spa. A series of therapeutic mineral pools. Crowded here. We put our clothes in a locker and change into bathing suits. We get towels. Went into 4 of the pools-felt so good-and down a waterslide. After time spent in the pools we change because we're having dinner here.

Drinks-coke, Imperial which you had to pay for $8.61 USD. Dessert-chocolate mousse, custard with fruit, bread pudding, pastry log. Plenty of food and quite good. In the gift store I bought a book on Arenal Volcano for $10.00 USD.

We are dropped off at our hotel around 9:00 pm. I felt we did a lot today and it was a nice time. Tomorrow we are going zip lining and I'm a little nervous as I don't like heights but my husband wanted to do this so.........
