4/2/2009 Casa Corvado/Osa Peninsula, bird watch hike, Corcovado National Park hike, Sunset Point, dinner at the lodge

Up at 5:00 am.  Bird watch hike was 5:30-6:30 am.  Saw a few birds.  Took just a few pictures.  Back to the lodge for breakfast.  Richard had toast, fruit, juice, coffee.  I had 1 fried egg, bacon, hash browns, wheat toast, juice, coffee.

At 7:30 am we met Cynthia for our 6 km hike through Corcovado National Park.  This was a very challenging hike for me.  Saw coati, birds, crocodile, lovely waterfall.  Had to cross a stream by waking on a fallen branch.  Unfortunately Trudy fell into the water when she slipped off the branch losing her balance.  I slipped but didn't fall.  At our hike's end we walked across the beach to finally get to the ranger station.  Here is where we had lunch.  Platters of ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato slices to make sandwiches.  Salads, fruit.  Omelet pie-eggs, potatoes, onion, and tomato.  Cookies.  Water, coke.  After all that hiking we're all hungry.  We slowly make our way back hiking along the beach.

Not sure what's in the tree but I'm sure Cynthia told us-monkey??

Our last time at Sunset Point.  Ginger ale, 2 Imperial beers.  Free appetizers.  Bread with cheese and tomato, tortilla with beef, hot dog slices with sauce.  Cost for the drinks was 4289.21 colones.

Dinner.  Cream corn and mushrooms in a pastry shell, cold onion guacamole soup.  I had chicken with blackberry sauce, white boiled potatoes, zucchini.  Richard had fish, same potato and vegetable.  There were 3 entree choices-beef tenderloin, chicken, or fish.  Bread pudding for dessert.

Back at our bungalow we pack as tomorrow we fly back to San Jose.  We've had a lovely time here.  I loved that it was a small property with only 14 bungalows.  The staff were great, the food was fantastic.  I would definitely return here.
