3/27/2009 Samara, day trip to Nosara-Playa Guiones, sunset at Playa Carrillo again

For some reason I didn't sleep well last night.  Breakfast.  This morning my breakfast is continental again but Richard chooses the tico with his eggs scrambled.  Passion fruit juice and coffee.  Feeling a bit better!

Today we're doing a road trip to Nosara.  About 25 km northwest of Samara.  Very rough road.  Took about 2 hours to get there!  The GPS took us on a road that ended abruptly by water.

GPS took us here!

I want to check out Playa Guiones.  This beach is long.  White sand.  Too rough for me to really go swimming.  Lots of surfers.  There's a group getting surfing lessons.  It's a very pretty beach.

A bit too rough for me

Back to Nosara town we stop at a store for ice cream.  Coffee to wake the dead and mono loco were the flavors we picked.  Cost for 2 small cones 3000 colones.  At a souvenir type store I bought a Costa Rica T shirt for my grandson and the most unique bottle decorated with turtles and more.  It's like a liquor flask but beautiful.  The T shirt was $10.00 USD and the bottle was $12.00 USD or 12210 colones.

Returning to Samara we got lost trying to find a gas station and ended up in Playa Carrillo.  Gas 15700 colones.  From here we knew how to get back to our hotel!  Pool time.

We decide to return to Playa Carrillo for the sunset again and it's just wonderful.  The colors!

Dinner is at our hotel.  Drinks-pepsi, Imperial beer.  Richard has fettuccini with fish and cherry tomatoes.  I have the meat ravioli in a tomato sauce with basil.  Dessert mix of ice creams.  Cost without tip 12400 colones/around $20.00 USD or so.  Tasty.

Hope I sleep better tonight.  Tomorrow we head south to Manuel Antonio where Richard will scuba dive again.
