We are up at 4:00 am. I'm sick but after I threw up I felt better. Check out smooth as was our check in. Loved this little hotel. If it had a pool it would be perfect.

Transfer picks us up at 5:15 am. Our flight departs at 8:00 am. We arrived at the
San Jose Airport at 5:30 am. We have to pay departure tax. It's $52.00 USD for the 2 of us. We had to wait as a plane to Houston is leaving and not all its passengers have been checked through. Finally we can check in and happy days-our baggage is not overweight! Now that we're checked in and through security we can relax. I decided to do some last minute shopping which is not a good thing to do at the airport as prices tend to be higher. I'm concerned I don't have enough souvenirs for family and friends. At the Cafe Britt store I bought some things for myself-a necklace and matching earrings, a wood box, and another small Guaitil pot, 2 candy bars, some mints. For family I bought some Britt candy and 3 small bottles Britt coffee liquors. Cost 47880 colones/$90.86 USD. Then I bought 2 small bottles of Lizard tabasco sauce which I paid cash $4.98 USD. Our flight is Continental #1797 departs San Jose 8:00 am. Scheduled to arrive Newark at 3:13 pm. Around 7:30 am we start boarding. Our flight is smooth and I get some great pictures of
Paos Volcano. We're served
breakfast. Hot ham and cheese sandwich, fruit, muffin, apple, and juice. Movies I watched were Day Earth Stood Still and Marley and Me.

Arriving to Newark I was able to see the Statue of Liberty, the New York city skyline and lots of bridges but unable to take pictures as no electronic devices allowed to be on. I didn't realize that I could have taken pictures. It was mainly computers, cell phones, etc. that were to be turned off. In Newark we had to claim our baggage for going through Customs and Immigration. I had to pack the liquor bottles and tabasco sauce bottles in checked bag per TSA regulations. During our layover we had
dinner at
Ruby's Diner. Cheeseburger, fries, and coke for me; Chinese chicken salad and sprite for Richard. Cost without tip $26.81.
Our flight Newark to Buffalo is Continental #3411Y departs 9:15 pm. Boarding starts at 8:40 pm.
Scheduled to arrive in Buffalo at 10:53 pm. Flight is a short one and too dark for any pictures. Our brother-in-law Dan is waiting for us at the airport. We get all our bags and head home. So nice that Dan was able to pick us up. I got extra souvenirs for him! It's been a very long day for us.
