3/25/2009 Driving to Samara, Giada, dinner at our hotel

We are up early even though we have plenty of time until we have to check out. Breakfast a la carte.  I have a plate of fruit-watermelon, pineapple, guava.  Juice and coffee for us both.  Richard has omelet, bacon, toast.  Near us we see a lizard maybe hoping for some crumbs?  A tree with long leather belt like pods and coral/yellow flowers.  Check out no problems.  So far all the arrangements made by CentralAmerica.com have been great.

Nice road to Samara.  Samara is popular with surfers.  We drive through the town of Nicoya.  In this area of Costa Rica raising/tending cattle is a big occupation here.  Cowboys are called sabaneros.

We arrived Giada 1:30 pm.  Check in.  Room #4 overlooks the pool by the hotel restaurant.  Our room is basic but very clean.  We settle in and go to the pool.

There's a hot tub too

Then we drive to Luperon supermarket for some bottles of water and snacks.  Walked about 5 minutes to the beach.  At a store along the way I bought 2 postcards and a straw mat for laying out on the beach.  This beach is nice but the water is a bit rough for me.

Beach warning

Dinner is at Pizza and Pasta A Go Go-restaurant at our hotel.  Greek salads, margherita pizza, water, Imperial beer, papaya fruit juice.  Dessert-type of tiramisu.  Cost without tip was 12600 colones/a bit more than $20.00 USD.

Back in our room I have some time to read.  The bed is very comfortable.
