3/26/2009 Samara, Playa Carrillo, drinks at Shake Joe's, sunset Playa Carrillo, dinner at El Largato

Breakfast is different here from other places we've stayed.  The menu has 4 choices and I like this set up.  1. Continental-fruit and toast 2. Tico or Costa Rican-rice & beans/gallo pinto, eggs, cooked plantains, tortillas or toast 3. Pancakes and fruit 4. Eggs and ham  We both decide to have the continental breakfast, juice, and coffee.  We drop off laundry at a place across the street from our hotel.  Cost is by weight 1500 colones.

We've decided to spend time at a nearby beach.  We drive to Playa Carrillo.  I like this beach as it's calmer than Samara.  Drinks at Shake Joe's on the beach-mango juice and Imperial beer.  Cost 2420 colones.  Left 500 colones tip.    Town has some cute shops.

We return to our hotel for pool time.  Picked up our laundry.  I've heard the sunset from Playa Carrillo is supposed to be beautiful so we drive back, park the car, and sit on the beach.  The sunset met all our expectations and then some.  It was truly breathtaking.

Dinner is at El Largato-on the beach.  Huge BBQ grill.  I have the 7 oz. grilled tenderloin with potatoes, grilled tomato and zucchini.  Richard has grilled fish filet with garlic and olive oil, potato, same grilled vegetables.  Imperial beer-what else-and pineapple juice mixed with water.  Cost without tip 22636 colones/around $40.00 USD.
