Buffet breakfast. Pancakes, bacon, fruit, orange juice, coffee; cereal, fruit. Check out no problem. I stop in Santa Elena to change $140.00 USD to 78162 colones. We are driving on a rough road. But soon we're on the Pan American Highway. Smoother sailing. Making better time. We stop for gas 9003 colones. I can't believe that I don't have a single picture of us driving on the Pan American Highway! We stop for drinks at Chicos Bar.
Reach
Ocotal Beach Resort by 2:00 pm. Given a coconut tasting welcome drink. Given a bracelet to wear during our stay which shows we are staying at this resort. The dive shop is here. There are 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi, tennis courts, gym, fishing center. We are in room #409 which faces the ocean. The room is very nice.

One of the resort's
pools is steps away from our room. Time to relax. Then we head to the
larger pool at the other end of the resort. Richard checks in to the
dive shop here and meets Heinar. His dive is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Lots to see. Howler monkeys, birds, sailboats. The view is spectacular. We really lucked out with our room.

Amazing sunset. We drove into the town of
Coco to find Louisiana Bar and Grill. No luck finding this restaurant and the town is mobbed with people and bikes galore.
We decided to return to our
resort and had
dinner there. From the restaurant
Roca Bruja you can see the beach and the gulf with lots of boats. Drinks-ice water, Imperial beer. I had grilled sirloin medallions with a gorgonzola and red wine madeira sauce, mashed potatoes, sautéed carrots/broccoli/green beans/beets. So yummy and the meat was so tender and cooked perfectly medium. Richard had grilled mahi mahi with a portabella mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, and the same sautéed vegetables. This meal was melt in your mouth delicious. Cost without tip 24360 colones/around $42.00 USD.
